Personalized Medicine For Women 40-65

Intelligent Menopause

Six months of health partnership for your body and brain.

Truly Personalized Medicine

Maybe you’re trying to decide whether hormone therapy is right for you. Maybe you’re already taking hormones but still don’t feel as well as you expected.

Systems thinking for complex challenges

Perhaps sleep, energy, weight, mood, sexual health, strength, joint pain, cholesterol or blood sugar have changed—and you know it’s not just one thing.

Menopause is for life

Or perhaps you’re years past menopause and asking a different question now:

What does my body and brain need at this point in my life?

Intelligent Menopause is a six-month personalized medicine program designed to answer that question with you.

A personal health roadmap

Over eight physician visits, we establish your goals and baseline, investigate your health in depth, create and implement a prioritized treatment plan, measure your response and continually refine our approach based on what we learn.

A medical partnership

This isn’t a one-time menopause consultation or a prescription you take home and figure out on your own.

We have six months to do the work together.

Your Intelligent Menopause Roadmap

A journey that unfolds in partnership

1

Establish your goals and baseline

We begin with a comprehensive medical evaluation of your menopause journey, symptoms, personal and family history, medications, current or previous hormone therapy, lifestyle, previous testing and the concerns that brought you to me.

We define your goals and establish your starting point through clinical assessment and targeted laboratory investigation.

2

Build a 360° view of your health

Hormones matter, but they are not the only thing we investigate. Depending on your history and concerns, we may evaluate cardiovascular and metabolic health, thyroid function, nutritional status, bone and muscle health, sleep, inflammation, gut health, mental and cognitive health, sexual health and other factors relevant to you.

The purpose is to determine what matters in you.

3

Prioritize and create your treatment plan

I bring your history, symptoms, examination and laboratory findings together and determine what deserves attention first.

For one woman, that may be hormone therapy. For another, gut health may be the more important place to begin. For yet another, sleep, metabolic health, thyroid function, nutrient status or something else may be the more important place to begin.

We establish what we’re doing, why we’re doing it and what we will measure to know whether it is working.

4

Implement, measure and refine

Then we act.

Over the following months, we evaluate your response. Are you feeling better? How is your health changing? What does your health data tell us? Where can we improve?

We adjust treatment as needed and add the next priority when appropriate.

We don’t simply hand you a plan. We implement it together.

5

Measure your before and after

Toward the end of the program, we repeat selected laboratory tests and other measures and compare where you started with where you are now.

Your laboratory results are only part of the evidence. We also return to the goals you established at the beginning.

Did your sleep improve? Is your energy different? Are you stronger? Are you exercising again? Has your sexual health changed? Do you feel better? What improved objectively?

My job is to understand what all of that information means together.

6

Build your plan for what comes next

Layer in the next major intervention while continuing what is working.

bHRT

Yes, we can talk about hormone therapy.

You may be considering hormone therapy for the first time. You may already be taking it and wondering whether your current treatment is right for you. You may be years beyond your final period and wondering whether starting now is appropriate.

Or your medical history may make the conversation more complicated—because of breast cancer, cardiovascular disease or another chronic illness.

We consider hormone therapy in the context of your symptoms, goals, medical history, family history, current health and the available evidence.

The objective is not a predetermined yes or no.
